Non-Discrimination Policies

Student Admissions Non-Discrimination Policy

Grace Christian Academy (GCA) admits students of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Academy. In accordance with applicable federal and state laws, including the Illinois School Code, we do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, or sex in the administration of our educational policies, admissions procedures, tuition assistance programs, athletics, or other school-administered programs. All admissions decisions are made free of unlawful bias, prejudice, and harassment.

As a private Christian institution, GCA’s mission is to develop wise students who reflect Christ’s love and truth in every aspect of their lives. Admissions decisions are based on the following:
  • A student’s ability to benefit from the academic and spiritual environment at GCA.
  • The provision of reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • A student’s adherence to personal and family lifestyles that align with the stated philosophy and purpose of Grace Christian Academy.

While GCA welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, we reserve the right to deny admission to individuals whose needs cannot be reasonably accommodated or whose personal or family lifestyles conflict with the school’s mission. These decisions are made transparently, consistently, and in compliance with all applicable laws.

Employment Non-Discrimination Policy

Grace Christian Academy (GCA) is committed to fostering an environment of respect and dignity for all staff, students, and members of our community. Consistent with this commitment and in accordance with federal and state laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Illinois School Code, GCA provides equal employment opportunities free of unlawful bias, prejudice, and harassment. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, national origin, ethnic background, or sex.

As a Christian educational institution, GCA’s mission is grounded in our faith and biblical values. Faculty and staff are considered spiritual leaders and are expected to uphold and contribute to the Academy’s religious mission, philosophy, and Statement of Faith. Therefore, hiring decisions are based on the following:
  • Professional qualifications and alignment with the school’s mission and values.
  • Agreement with GCA’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Agreement, reflecting a commitment to live in accordance with biblical principles.
In all employment practices, including hiring, promotion, compensation, benefits, training, and termination, GCA remains free of unlawful bias, prejudice, and harassment. At the same time, GCA reserves the right to employ individuals who align with our faith-based mission, as permitted under Title VII’s religious exemption and the ministerial exception doctrine.

GCA is dedicated to creating an educational and professional environment that fosters excellence in instruction, spiritual development, and service. Employment practices are conducted in a manner that upholds our mission, honors the diversity of our broader community, and remains faithful to our biblical foundation.
