Welcome to our Safety and Conduct page. At Grace Christian Academy, we uphold the highest standards of safety, respect, and integrity. Our commitment is reflected in our comprehensive policies designed to foster a secure and positive learning environment for our students and staff.
Employee Code of Professional Conduct
At Grace Christian Academy, we believe in maintaining a standard of professional conduct grounded in biblical values and respect for every individual. Rooted in Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men," our commitment is to create a safe environment reflecting Christ’s love. This includes adhering to the Illinois Educators’ Code of Ethics and our own standards of conduct. We explicitly prohibit sexual misconduct, and we set clear boundaries for professional relationships to ensure that interactions between staff and students honor God and uphold trust.
This includes guidelines on appropriate digital communication, transportation, and maintaining physical boundaries to foster a safe and nurturing atmosphere. By safeguarding our community, we reflect God’s call to protect the vulnerable, as seen in Matthew 18:6, where Jesus calls us to care for His children, ensuring they are never led into harm. These principles form the backbone of our conduct, encouraging us to lead with integrity and godly compassion.

Reporting Procedures
|
At Grace Christian Academy, we are deeply committed to providing a safe and Christ-honoring environment for all students. If you suspect any form of misconduct or abuse, we urge you to report it immediately to the designated school officials, either through a confidential contact form or by directly notifying the administration.
Reporting Procedures
Reports of misconduct or abuse are handled with the utmost confidentiality. Grace Christian Academy strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against individuals who report misconduct or abuse in good faith. We are committed to ensuring that no one faces penalties for bringing concerns forward.
Investigation Process
Upon receiving a report, the administration promptly conducts an initial assessment within 24 hours to evaluate the credibility and severity of the allegations. If the report is deemed credible, the proper authorities are notified, and the parents/guardians of the student are informed. During the investigation, an impartial investigator, such as a school leader or pastor, interviews all relevant parties, including the student, the alleged offender, and any witnesses. The investigator also reviews relevant documentation, such as emails, texts, or social media exchanges, and gathers any physical evidence related to the incident.
Confidentiality and Non-Retaliation
Throughout the investigation, confidentiality is maintained to protect the privacy and dignity of all involved. Furthermore, the school enforces a strict non-retaliation policy to ensure that no one faces repercussions for reporting misconduct.
Final Determination and Follow-up
Once the investigation concludes, the findings are submitted to the school board or a designated administrator for review. Based on the evidence gathered, a final determination is made, and appropriate disciplinary measures are implemented. Both parties are informed of the outcome, and the school takes additional steps, if necessary, to protect the student, including providing counseling or support services. Continuous follow-up ensures the ongoing safety and well-being of the student.

Training and Resources
We prioritize the ongoing education and preparedness of our staff to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. All employees are required to complete annual training in child abuse prevention, educator ethics, and legal compliance. This training equips our team to uphold the highest standards of care and safety.
