Admission Philosophy
Grace Christian Academy is open to anyone interested in securing a Christian education from K3 through twelfth grade, who the school finds qualified for admission and who agrees (and whose parents agree) that he or she shall abide by Grace Christian Academy rules. It must always be understood that attendance at Grace Christian Academy is a privilege and not a right. This privilege must be forfeited by any student who does not conform to the school’s standards of conduct and/or who is unwilling to adjust to our environment.
All students must want to attend Grace Christian Academy and agree to honestly and wholeheartedly apply themselves to “study to show [themselves] approved unto God” (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV). They also agree to be courteous and respectful to their peers, staff, faculty, and other daily associates.
Grace Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to GCA students. We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of our educational policies, admissions procedures, tuition assistance awards, athletic, and other school administered programs.
The school is in general compliance with the applicable sections of the Illinois School Code, with relevant case law (including Plyler v Doe), and with 23 Illinois Administrative Code Part 425.
Grace Christian Academy reserves the right to select students on the basis of academic performance, religious commitment, lifestyle choices, and personal qualifications including a willingness to cooperate with Grace Christian Academy administration and to abide by its policies. Grace Christian Academy has no obligation to provide service and reserves the right to refuse service.

Admission Standards
Shared Goals: GCA is most effective when working with families who share our commitments. Instilling wisdom throughout all aspects of our organization is the foundation of our overall program.
Cooperative Spirit: Each family and each student admitted to GCA is expected to exhibit a cooperative spirit. Parents and students should read the Parent/Student Handbook for a description of the school's standards and expectations. The school only admits students who want to attend GCA. Negative attitudes about the Christian faith or the school may prevent admission.
Academic Record: an applicant’s academic record must indicate that the student is adequately prepared for the instructional program at GCA. Students are expected to take their academic responsibilities seriously.
Academics Accommodations: Grace is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. Modifications we are able to make, if required by an IEP, are extended work and test time, reduction in workload, copies of teacher notes, strategic classroom seating, and tests read to the student.
Disciplinary Record: GCA may not admit students who have a history of disciplinary problems. Students who have received suspensions or have been expelled from other schools will be reviewed and may not be admitted.
Pre-school, Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and 1st grade: Students must meet the age and maturity standards of the school. All immunizations and required physical examination must be documented prior to final admission.
