God has given us all special talents and abilities. These special gifts are what set us apart from one another. It’s important that everyone has different talents. If we all had the same talents, then we wouldn’t be nearly as progressed as we are today. One area that God has gifted me to bring glory to Him and the world is guitar.
To start, I can bring glory to God through guitar by playing in a praise band. Praise bands are a fun and unique way to bring glory to God. It doesn’t even have to be a praise band. As long as the song isn’t about anything single. God gave the gift of music. Therefore, just playing music is utilizing that gift, music, from God. Utilizing the gifts God has given us in a good, non-sinful way is bringing glory to God. Another way I can bring glory to God is to teach people the gospel through guitar lessons. I can share, and demonstrate the gospel message to the student throughout my time teaching them.
I can bring glory to the world around me by teaching a friend to play guitar. Heaps of people want to learn an instrument, but do not have the money or the time. I could help a friend out if he or she has a question about how a guitar works, or answer any questions about playing one. I could use this talent to get in a band, and simply just be a friend to those in the band. You never know if a person needs someone in their life to be that friend that they’ve never had before. That person could end up being a lifelong friend.
As you can see, our different talents and abilities are extremely important to society’s success. That, along with glorifying him and the world, is the reason God gave us all our own unique talents. However, we shouldn’t overlook our talents, because they are a gift. What we may overlook someone else may admire. We all can contribute to society, so go out and use your talents to do it!
