Nobody enjoys the hard wood seating that most cafeterias have to offer. They are simply not comfortable. Comfortable seating would be a lunch changing experience. It would make the students feel more important. Something as little as more comfortable seating can change the way the students feel that the school views them. This would work in such a way that each class takes turn for the couches. One day it would be the sixth grade’s turn. The next day, it would be the seventh grades turn, and this process continues. The rule would be that the class sitting as the table has to clean up after themselves. If the class fails to do this, then they lose their next privilege to sit on the couches.
A wider variety of foods for purchase would be something not a single person could deny as a needed idea to be taken into consideration. For the students that forget their lunches or maybe only brought money, it would much nicer to have a wide variety of choices. That would make it seem more as a restaurant than a school cafeteria. The school could even serve hot lunches. This way students could order and pay for food off the school menu before the week has started. They could simply walk into the cafeteria and grab their food.
Games are a fun part of life that we all enjoy. Games in a cafeteria would be a fun way to interact with fellow students. After lunch, students could hang out with other students until the lunch hour would be over.
As you can see, the cafeterias of schools should be changed to make the students feel that they matter. A smart place to start would be to add comfortable seating, more food, and games to play.. Students would start to enjoy the cafeteria.
