The first quality a good friend should encompass must be trustworthiness. This has to be a key part in a friendship because, knowing that a friend will not only keep your secrets, but help you through something you don’t want anyone else to know can be one of the best feelings in the world. As a friend you want to be a trustworthy source. If your friends can’t trust you, you’ll want to fix that, because when your friends don’t trust you don’t expect anyone else to.
The next quality in a friend would be honesty. To have an honest friend can make you see your worth. This quality means telling if your friend might be liable to get hurt, telling the truth when they ask how they look, and being completely truthful in whether or not they should go through with something. It can be difficult to be completely honest because you don’t want to hurt your friend’s feelings.
The final quality in a friend would be, being able to give a hug. This, the final quality must be one of the greatest in a friend. A good friend should be able to be open for a hug whenever you need one, or they need one. It does not matter if they are a good hugger or not. They simply need to be open to give you a hug or to receive a hug when needed.
These are a few qualities I look for in a best friend. I know that not every friend will live up to these standards, but they can try their best. These are a couple of qualities I would need in a friend.
The only other quality I may include would be that they must be a Christian.
